Di An Vietnamese Cuisine Scarborough

I am looking forward to visiting Vietnam one day. If Vietnamese food tastes this good in the Greater Toronto Area, I can only imagine how good and fresh (and cheap) the food is in Vietnam. The people I know who have been to Vietnam loved it. Until I go myself, I will have to just enjoy the Vietnamese restaurants here, and a new one that my husband and I tried recently is Di An Vietnamese Cuisine Scarborough.

Di A Vietnamese Cuisine Scarborough is at Chartwell Shopping Centre on Brimley Rd, between Sheppard Ave E and Finch Ave E (they also have a Markham location at Kennedy and Denison). I didn’t realize until we got there that it was in the same plaza we often go to for Japanese AYCE and Chinese food. The restaurant was modern-looking, nicely decorated, and clean. 

As soon as I saw the Smoked Beef Brisket Pho, which has ribeye in the pho and smoked beef brisket on the side, listed on the menu when we were at Di An Vietnamese Cuisine Scarborough, I knew that was what I was going to order. Smoked meat at a Vietnamese restaurant? That was a first for me. My husband was intrigued as well, so we both ended up ordering it and also the Deep-Fried Spring Rolls to share. 

The Deep-Fried Spring Rolls were compact and had the density of sausages; they were different, but good. The Smoked Beef Brisket Pho soup broth had a hint of lemon grass or ginger, and the ribeye in it was tender. The smoked beef brisket, which was served on the side, was the best part of the meal, though, and they give you a good amount of it. It was delicious, tender, flavourful, and had a nice hickory taste, but words cannot do it the justice it deserves…only your taste buds can. 

As you can tell, I really liked the food at Di An Vietnamese Cuisine Scarborough. They also had good customer service, and it was easy to wave down the waitstaff if you needed something. I can see why they have 4.9 stars on Google reviews. If I didn’t want to try a new Vietnamese restaurant that day, I wouldn’t have known that I could get my pho and smoked meat fix all in one shot. Also, I wouldn’t have been able to get this content for my blog. Win-win!
