Boustan

2074 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1R 2Z5

I had never heard of Boustan until a few months ago when I saw an article about it on blogTO. Even though they have over 40 locations in Montreal and one location in Ottawa, they only opened their first Toronto location in January of this year at Warden and Lawrence (the best intersection for food in Toronto in my opinion). There is a second location at Leslie and York Mills now and they plan to open other locations in the GTA as well. Boustan seems to be expanding quickly…

My husband and I both got the Mixed Shawarma Plate from Boustan the first time we went, and since then, I’ve also tried the Chicken Shawarma Plate. Their shawarma was tender and flavourful and they put a lot of tahini and hot sauce (optional) on top, both of which made the shawarma even more delicious. The garlic potatoes and rice were great as well. I liked the pita, which was soft and fresh and tasted really good with the garlic sauce and hummus that were also included. The cabbage of the coleslaw was fresh and thinly sliced and the flavour was amazing. It might be the best coleslaw I’ve ever had. Is it weird that I’m raving about coleslaw?

On Boustan’s website, they advertise that they are “offering delicious, authentic Lebanese food at convenient times and accessible prices” and that they have “superb service, fresh ingredients, and mouth-watering plates”. After trying Boustan, I concur with their statements. I don’t know how it’s possible, but their food seems to get even better each time I try it. Boustan is so good that I’m tempted to open my own franchise, but I think it’s mostly so I can eat it whenever I want. 😂

Update: Boustan at Warden and Lawrence is temporarily (?) closed.
