Clarkson Pump & Patio
1744 Lakeshore Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5J 4N8
My friend and I were looking for a restaurant to eat at in Mississauga and came across Clarkson Pump & Patio in some Google searches. It is one of 5 locations, which all have different names. I discovered that the Clarkson Pump & Patio location has a heated patio, a couple of lobster items on their menu, and good reviews from previous patrons so it was an easy pick for us. Yup, that’s how much research I did prior to going there…
Clarkson Pump & Patio actually has two patios. One of them is not covered and open to the elements, which would be nice in the summer, but it was November in Ontario, Canada when we went so we definitely wanted the heated patio. The heated patio was semi-enclosed and so warm that I took off my jacket partway through.
Since I looked up Clarkson Pump & Patio’s menu (multiple times) beforehand, I already knew what I wanted to get. I ordered the Lobster ravioli and my friend got the Mild grilled wings. That was the first time I heard of a grilled option for wings at a restaurant so I was intrigued… They also have the options, breaded or saucy. My Lobster ravioli was tasty and flavourful. They gave a generous amount of lobster meat inside the ravioli and in the sauce as well. The garlic bread that came with it was crispy, buttery, and garlicky. The Lobster ravioli was filling because of its richness, but I managed to finish it. Is it embarrassing to admit I would have licked the plate if I wasn’t so full?
My friend and I enjoyed Clarkson Pump & Patio so much that we went back again a few weeks later. This time I got the Garlic Parmesan grilled wings (I had to try it for myself), and my friend got the Swiss burger with fries and French onion soup. The Garlic Parmesan flavour was, surprisingly, a dry rub. The wings had a nice grilled taste to them and they were lightly breaded and crispy. I also “helped” my friend finish her fries and gravy, which were yummy too.
Clarkson Pump & Patio has a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, different sections to eat at, and good food. Has my rant about them convinced you to give them a try yet? 😂
