Greek Mansion
5651 Steeles Ave E #10, Scarborough, ON M1V 5P6
Greek food is one of my favourite cuisines. Grilled meat, tzatziki, feta cheese, fried cheese…what’s not to like? That’s why I was in food heaven when my husband and I went to Greece for our honeymoon in 2019. I don’t expect Greek food in the Greater Toronto Area to be as good as in Greece, but I thought there would be more options besides the Greek restaurants in Greektown, also known as The Danforth. I didn’t give up my search for a go-to Greek takeout restaurant though and it paid off when I finally found Greek Mansion a few months ago.
I believe Greek Mansion is a relatively new restaurant since their first Google review was posted just seven months ago. It is located in the Milliken Crossings plaza at Middlefield and Steeles, which is the same one as SumiLicious Smoked Meat & Deli, so they have some tough Michelin Guide competition. Since Greek Mansion grills the meat fresh, their food takes 10 to 15 minutes to be ready so you might want to call in your order ahead of getting there.
I ordered the large chicken plate with rice and veggies and my husband got the large pork plate with rice and potatoes the first couple of times we went to Greek Mansion despite there being a variety of items on their menu. The Greek salad had fresh vegetables with feta cheese and the tasty dressing was thicker than other Greek salad dressings. My chicken was tender, the vegetables only had some minced garlic for a clean taste, and the rice was the perfect density. It was all delicious, and the gyros and fries I ordered instead of the veggies in a recent meal were also really good. The fries reminded me of Cavendish Farms’ FlavourCrisp Classic Straight Cut Fries, but they were flavourful. My husband’s pork plate was similarly enjoyable.
The food from Greek Mansion was reasonably priced, plentiful, tasty, and it satisfies my Greek food cravings until I can go back to Greece and be in food heaven again. 🤞🏻 that my husband wins the sales award next year because guess where they are going? Greece!
