HO Sushi Express

It is not difficult to find a Japanese restaurant in the Greater Toronto Area nowadays, but finding one with fresh, good-quality sushi is a little more difficult. For dine-in restaurants, I have a few favourites, but sometimes you want to just take out a party tray and eat sushi in the comfort of your own home. If you live in the east end of the city, HO Sushi Express, which is located just east of Scarborough Town Centre, is a good choice.

My husband and I first tried HO Sushi Express back in April. We were a little tired of going to the same Japanese restaurants and wanted to try someplace new so I Googled “best sushi in Scarborough”. It came back as one of the search hits with good reviews. HO Sushi Express doesn’t have a dining area, just a kitchen and a cash register so it is a true take-out restaurant. I would recommend placing an order over the phone before going there so you don’t have to wait. The party trays we have ordered in the past have been ready in less than 20 minutes, but there isn’t much in the immediate area other than a few other stores in that condo area. Imagine living in one of those condos and being able to get sushi by just going downstairs…I’m so jealous. 🤤

HO Sushi Express has a lot of good options for party trays, whether you prefer sashimi, sushi, rolls, or all three. We’ve tried a few different options as you can see from the photos below and all of them had fresh fish and were nicely prepared. Their prices are also really reasonable. I like that it is a no fuss, no muss kind of restaurant and is just about its cheap, good food. If you want to be the hit at a potluck, get a party tray from HO Sushi Express. 😉
