The Royal Chinese Restaurant

Chinese restaurants in the GTA and probably a lot of countries in the world are not too difficult to come by, but there are noticeable differences in the quality and deliciousness of the food. I will eat Chinese food even though it might not be the best, but obviously, I would prefer good, authentic Chinese food. One of the restaurants to go for that is The Royal Chinese Restaurant at Birchmount and Sheppard.

My mom suggested going to The Royal Chinese Restaurant a couple of years ago because she had heard it was good. Then last year, my husband’s family heard about it from someone and suggested going there. Word-of-mouth is definitely a good way to get business. My parents, husband, and I went there again for dinner a couple of months ago and it was packed. If I hadn’t been there before, seeing a line-up to get a table would solidify to me that the food must be good before I even tried it.

I really like how Chinese restaurants have so many various dishes on their menu. There is never a shortage of new dishes to try. My parents, husband, and I each chose a dish. We ordered the fried pork chop with special sauce, fish fillet, Scheuzan eggplant with bean curd hot pot, and Cantonese chow mein. All the dishes were flavourful and delicious, and they did not skimp out.

I don’t really want The Royal Chinese Restaurant to have an even longer line-up or wait for the food to arrive, but I had to do a blog post about them so I could rave a bit about their food. If you decide to go there, I would recommend having an early dinner (before 5:30 pm) so you don’t have to stand in line…and don’t forget to bring your appetite. 😉
