Spoon & Fork
5860 Mavis Rd, Mississauga, ON L5V 3B7
There are a lot of Japanese and Thai restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area, but I haven’t found many that serve both cuisines, which Spoon & Fork does. Spoon & Fork has been around for over 25 years and currently has seven locations, mostly in the West End of the GTA. They view themselves as offering fine dining and have both an All You Can Taste and à la carte menu.
Since I am a big fan of Japanese and Thai food, I wasn’t surprised that I really enjoyed Spoon & Fork when I first went many years ago with my dad’s side of the family. I went again recently this past February for my mother-in-law’s birthday. We went for their All You Can Taste dinner at the Heartland location in Mississauga, which was nicely decorated and spacious.
One of the reasons why I like Spoon & Fork so much is that when you order from their All You Can Taste menu, their dishes are like what you would get from an à la carte menu. They are just smaller portions so you can try many of them, hence why their menu is “All You Can Taste”. Since there were six of us, we were able to taste many different Thai dishes, sushi and sashimi, dim sum, etc. I was in food heaven.
The food at Spoon & Fork was nicely presented, freshly made, and as delicious as I remembered. If they had a location closer to me, I’d go more often than once every few years. Maybe not going there frequently, though, is what makes the times I do go even more special. I think my taste buds disagree…
